The trial of Radoj Zvicer, Slobodan Kašćelan, Milan Vujotić and Dragan Knežević, accused of smuggling 743 kilograms of cocaine, was postponed to September 19, at the suggestion of special prosecutor Zoran Vučinić.
Cocaine was seized in August 2020 in the Dutch port of Rotterdam.
Prosecutor Vučinić stated that the High Court has not yet decided whether to confirm or reject the evidence against Igor Božović, who was accused of the same incident as the accused in this case.
The hearing for the control of the indictment was held on July 4, which the Special State Prosecutor's Office brought against Igor Božović, due to the suspicion that he participated in the smuggling of 743 kilograms of cocaine.
The prosecutor explained today that the indictment against Božović was brought later because the Special State Prosecutor's Office was waiting for the consent of the judicial authorities of Portugal to try this accused for this criminal offense.
The defender of Switzerland, lawyer Marko Radović, said that he has nothing against the prosecution's proposal, with the proposal that the court officially check before the start of the trial whether there is already an investigation into this criminal event in the Netherlands, which is responsible for prosecution and trial, given that the event took place on its territory.
"In the submitted documentation, there is no decision on the transfer of criminal prosecution against our citizens, so it is not clear how the SDT initiated this procedure," said Radović.
The Special Prosecutor's Office accuses Zvicer of having formed a chat group with Knežević, Kašćelan, Vujotić and Božović on the SKY ECC encrypted application at the end of June 2020 and informed them that in South America he had arranged the procurement and overseas transport from Ecuador to Europe of 743 kilograms of cocaine, packed in 1.080 packages of bananas at a purchase price of US$5.000 per kilogram.
According to the indictment, Zvicer also informed the associates that the transoceanic ship with a load of drugs, for the purchase of which they jointly provided 1.455.000 euros, was leaving Ecuador on July 17, 2020.
He also informs them about the maritime routes of the transoceanic ship with the purchased cocaine, about the appearance of the cardboard packages in which the drugs were with bananas. Zvicer informs his associates through the "Skaj" application that he owns 45 kilograms of the total amount of cocaine, Vujotić 25 kilograms, Knežević 20 kilograms, and Kašćelan and Božović 10 kilograms each.
As stated in the indictment, Zvicer also informed the group about the seizure of drugs by sending them two picture messages with photos, one of which shows the appearance of the seized cocaine, and the other a newspaper article about the seizure of 743 kilograms of cocaine, which were published on Dutch portals. .
