The Podgorica police arrested five people for violent behavior and inflicting serious bodily injuries, the Police Administration (UP) announced.
The announcement states that in Podgorica on July 19, in the garden of a catering facility, there was a disturbance of public order and peace with a fight, and that on that occasion one person suffered serious injuries and was taken to medical attention.
"Working in the field, the police officers of the Podgorica Security Department found out about the identity of the injured person, as well as the perpetrator of the GD (28), who was deprived of his liberty on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of grievous bodily harm," the announcement states.
The UP added that, in addition, on July 20, in front of a restaurant in the town of Bioče, public order and peace were disturbed by a physical confrontation between several people, and that one of them was injured.
"Members of the police found two people on the spot, one of them with injuries and he was transported for medical assistance, while the other two participants in this physical conflict, MV (23) and NV (24), were located and stopped in traffic. The driver MV was breathalyzed and it was found that he was driving the vehicle with an illegal amount of alcohol in his body, and he was deprived of his freedom due to the violation of the Road Traffic Safety Act was deprived of his liberty by order of NV due to the suspicion that he had committed the criminal offense of violent behavior, and subsequently, after the conclusion of the proceedings in relation to the above-mentioned misdemeanor, MV was also deprived of his liberty due to the same criminal offence," the statement reads.
Along with the UP, they stated that the Podgorica police also acted in relation to the physical conflict that took place on July 20 in front of a restaurant in Tuzi.
"Police officers came to the scene, made an inspection and seized a video from the video surveillance near the scene. The participants of the event were identified, and the prosecutor in the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was informed of everything, who ordered that MV (31 ) and AV (29) collected information after they were located, which was done, and the acting prosecutor qualified the criminal offense as violent behavior. MV and AV were deprived of their liberty," the statement concluded.
