Naser Ramaj, a businessman from Kosovo, told Vijesti that he is not on the run nor is he being sought.
Ramaj is suspected of having damaged the state of Montenegro for at least two million euros when applying for honorary Montenegrin citizenship.
He also told Vijesti that he was on vacation outside Montenegro and that he only now found out from the media that he was allegedly being searched for.
He pointed out that he immediately called the police and that he would come to Montenegro tomorrow and give a statement and be available to all state authorities, because he had not committed any criminal act.
In a statement, the Police Directorate stated that the officers of the Department for the fight against crime, the Department for the fight against corruption, economic crime and the implementation of financial investigations are taking measures and actions to locate Ramaj, who has been unavailable to the competent authorities since August 1.
