The public and the authorities were informed about the murder of the dog Džigi in the town of Donje Luga Tatjana Radević, a volunteer of the Podgorica animal protection organization "Ruka-šapi" from Beran.
As she told "Vijesti" yesterday, the dog is the owner's, it was in the forest, not far from the house where Radević lives, tied up, and she, as she said, visited him often, to feed him, to guide him, to untie the chain. On September 1st in the evening, she heard the shooting:
"On September 1, 9, given that I live and stay in Lugovi next to Lim, where a Kangal dog is tied up not far away, near the road, in the bushes, that evening around 2024:20.30 p.m. I heard a shot and a dog's wail, while I fed my dogs, when I finished the feeding job, I went to visit, like every night I worked, the Kangal dog, the owner of BM, who is not far from me... tied up in the bush, because of the heat, in the shade, and after I came, I found him in a lying position, without any sign of life and I noticed a hole in his chest, most likely from a bullet, and later I saw four more holes", she states in the report she submitted to the Beran police.
In the report, she added that the locals of Lug had threatened and stopped her several times before, threatening to kill her dog, even though the dog was not on anyone's property.
"And it wasn't dangerous, and most importantly, it wasn't visible to anyone, but they heard that a dog was staying there," she told the police.
Radević also stated that she fears for her own safety, as well as that of her dogs: "Because I pass the mentioned road where the dog was killed even in the late hours to buy blueberries, because that's what I do."
After a report was filed against an unknown person to the police and because a dog chained in the forest was shot with a firearm not far from her house, Radević found her three dogs in front of the house where she lives two days later. Suspecting that they were poisoned, she filed a complaint.
Ten days ago, as she told "Vijesti", the property around her house, around her dogs, was set on fire.
Radević has previously filed reports for torture and abuse of animals.
"Vijesti" announced in April 2022 that the corpses of several dogs were found on Gradinsko polje, in the municipality of Beran, some of which had visible gunshot wounds.
Radević then filed a report with the authorities. As "Vijesti" then announced, in Gradinsko polje, along the river Lim, friends and she found eight dogs, which they suspected to have been killed, and another corpse was found during the investigation by the police...
