The President of the Independent Police Union, Igor Rmandić, announced that the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated two disciplinary proceedings against him, which, he says, are related to the performance of trade union activities. He claims that he is "trying to stifle" the work of the union he heads.
He says that both procedures are scheduled for Wednesday, September 11, in the "Limenka" building.
"A disciplinary proceeding is scheduled for 11,00:XNUMX a.m. where I am charged with the fact that, as the president of the union, I gave a statement to the media about the situation in the police. In this way, I and all other representatives of the union are prohibited from communicating with the media, the right to work for me and you. If I am found guilty, it will be a clear message to all other trade unionists that contacting and giving statements or information to the media is strictly prohibited and punishable," he said.
He says that the second disciplinary procedure is scheduled for 14.30:2023 p.m. and that it concerns what happened at the protest in front of the MUP in September XNUMX, when, as he says, they were "verbally and almost physically attacked" by the then line minister Filip Adžić. He explained that he is accused of insulting Adžić.
"Considering that one of the proceedings concerns the unhindered work of the media, and that the aforementioned protest was reported by all the media in Montenegro, I ask you to attend both hearings and by your presence and reporting contribute to freedom of speech, which is clearly being tried to be stifled," Rmandić concluded in announcement delivered to the media.
