The former management of the state company "13 July - Plantaže" will be tried on suspicion of having damaged that company for around 384.000 euros and obtained an illegal benefit to the company "OMP Engineering" in the same amount.
This was decided by the Council of the High Court in Podgorica, which confirmed the indictment of the Special State Prosecutor's Office against: Veselin Vukotić, Verica Maraš, Đorđij Rajković, Sead Šahman, Duško Perović and Božo Mihailović.
They are being charged with abuse of official position, announced the special prosecutor and SDT spokesman Vukas Radonjić.
"The Council of the High Court in Podgorica, by decision Kvso No. 10/23, dated September 2 this year, confirmed the indictment, Kt-S No. 151/22, dated March 2, 2023, which the Special State Prosecutor's Office brought against now the accused VV, Đ.R., S.Š., DP, BM, and VM, due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that they have committed the criminal offense of abuse of position in business operations, for which a prison sentence of two to ten years is prescribed," he states. Radonjic.
"In the procedure that preceded the filing of the indictment, at the level of reasonable suspicion, it was established that the accused, in the period from December 24, 2019 to April 23, 2020, in Podgorica, as responsible persons in the damaged company July 13 -Plantaže' AD, abused their position regarding the disposal of other people's property and did not perform their duty in the process of concluding an obviously harmful out-of-court settlement, with the business company 'OMP-Engineering' DOO, and thus, as a result of the partial execution of an obviously harmful settlement, obtained an illegal pecuniary benefit, and inflicted pecuniary damage on the injured party in the amount of 384.672,40 euros," announced Radonjić.
