The hearing for the control of the indictment against the defendants in the "Tunel" case was postponed today in the Basic Court in Podgorica because the defendants Veljko Marković, Milan Marković and Dejan Jovanović were not duly served with the return receipt.
The indictment included Katarina Baćović, Marijan Vuljaj, Nikola Milačić, Predrag Mirotić, Vladimir Erić, Veljko Marković, Milan Marković and Dejan Jovanović, on suspicion of participating in the burglary of the High Court depot.
Vladimir Erić's lawyer, Stefan Jovanović, said that the Basic Court canceled the custody of his client with the explanation that after the DNA analysis, there is not enough evidence, i.e. reasonable suspicion that he is connected with the criminal acts for which he is charged.
Erić told reporters that everything was a big mistake and that he and his family are suffering because of it.
"I will continue to respond to every summons of this court," Erić told reporters in front of the Basic Court.
His lawyer, Jovanović, said that he expects the indictment against him, that is, the proceedings against him to be suspended, because he does not see on what basis Erić would be tried now.
Erić said that, if the indictment against him is dropped, he will probably sue the state of Montenegro.
"In Montenegro, innocence seems to have to be proven, we are ready to prove it because we have the evidence," lawyer Jovanović told reporters.
