Šćepanović: There were two people in Budva who were suspected of preparing criminal acts, one was arrested

The police came to know that there were two persons suspected of preparing criminal acts in the territory of Budva, one of whom, Milan Kršić, was arrested, announced today Lazar Šćepanović, Acting Assistant Director of the Police Administration for the Sector to fight crime.

He said that they are working to establish the identity of the other person.

He said at the press conference that yesterday in Berane, a manager in the Forest Management Directorate was arrested at his workplace.

He said that yesterday, the officers of the Department for the fight against corruption, economic crime and the implementation of financial investigations arrested the coordinator and chief urban inspector of the DR, which carries out activities for the southern region, Bar, Ulcinj and Budva, due to the existence of a basic suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of receiving bribery, and in connection with it, three persons were prosecuted and arrested, who indirectly influenced him not to take official measures and actions that he was obliged to take within the scope of his powers and was obliged to carry out supervision within the scope of his job description, to make minutes in relation to on the construction of facilities where we have the devastation of the Montenegrin coast, and he took money for the implementation of those activities.

"Based on the collected evidence, we found and seized EUR 50.000 in money from this person. Other related persons who committed the criminal offense of giving a bribe by assisting are DD (39) from Podgorica, DG (50), and VD (42) from Bar , in the period from April to the end of September, together with the suspect DR, together they committed the criminal offense of accepting a bribe," Šćepanović said.

He also said that the officers of the Department for the fight against corruption, economic crime and the implementation of financial investigations in Berane arrested the chief, that is, the head of the regional unit of the Administration for Forests and Forest Management, V.Ž (61), and he added that he is at work one more person was arrested

"This will be an example of how we will fight against corruption, so we will deprive any person who commits a criminal offense in the field of corruption of their freedom at the workplace as an example to other officials in state bodies. We also prosecuted Č.M, a person from Beran, due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of bribery. Evidence was collected that the head of the forest administration in Berane took a larger amount of money in order to secure a privileged status and influence," he said.

Šćepanović also said that the competent state prosecutor's office has reclassified this criminal offense to unlawful influence.

"That it affected other persons in state bodies, to provide a privileged status to the person who carried out certain illegalities, for which proceedings are being conducted, so that person would return to the system of the state administration for forests on a work assignment," he said.

Šćepanović said that the officers of the Anti-Crime Sector, together with the officers of the Budva Security Department, arrested Milan Kršić (46), for whom an international warrant was issued, and thus, he said, prevented the execution of unwanted consequences.

"Kršić was arrested yesterday and brought to the High Court within the legal term, where he was remanded in custody, said the acting director. MA was also arrested, who was wanted on a national warrant for crimes against life and limb, i.e. attempted murder," he said. Šćapanović.

He stated that in yesterday's activities, 12 people were arrested for 18 criminal acts.

"Regarding the person who was arrested yesterday, we have operational data that they rented two flats in Budva where they observed and monitored a certain category of persons. Due to the interests of the investigation, I cannot disclose more details, but we have obtained certain evidence and we are looking for one person. , to see what their intentions were and in what direction the criminal activities were carried out," Šćepanović said.

Šćepanović added that one person who violated the right to vote was also arrested yesterday.

"There was definitely a criminal act of violation of electoral rights. One person was detained and 23 personal documents were found. Information is still being collected regarding the activities of the detained person. I cannot say for which party he did it, for now we have no more information, but there was definitely a violation of electoral rights. He was detained," he pointed out.
