Vasko Lešković, a high-ranking member of the Skaljar clan, was killed yesterday in Cetinje - he was hit in the heart by a sniper shot while he was in the yard of his house.
The executor, according to the assumptions of the police, fired only one bullet at Lješković, after which he ran away.
The interlocutors of "Vijesti" from the security sector said that they believe that the criminal kavac clan is behind the liquidation.
The head of the Police Administration unofficially told "Vijesta" that Lješković was shot from a hill about 500 meters away.
At that place yesterday afternoon, the inspectors were trying to find and remove traces of the criminal act, which would eventually lead them to the executor. At the same time, in front of Lješković's house, police inspectors, crime technicians, forensic experts and the prosecutor on duty did the same.
The Police Department officially announced that the Cetinje Security Department was notified around 15:25 p.m. that a person suspected of being unconscious was found in the yard of the house, which is surrounded by a high concrete wall.
"Police officers immediately went to the scene and determined that it was V. Lj. against whom a firearm was used and he died on this occasion. It is suspected that the immediate perpetrator of this act observed the victim from a greater distance and took his life," said the UP.
They claim that their officers are undertaking intensive activities within their jurisdiction in cooperation with the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica in order to shed light on that event.
The murder of Lješković, close to one of the leaders of the Cetinje cell of the Skaljar clan Vladan Radoman, is the continuation of the decade-long conflict between that and the Kavaka clan, which claimed many lives in Montenegro and the region.
The bloody conflict began at the end of 2014 due to the disappearance of 200 kilograms of cocaine from an apartment in Valencia, which led to the separation of the once unified criminal clan into two warring camps, whose members have been looking at each other ever since.
ZBCG and DPS demand resignations
After the murder in Cetinje, the coalition for the future of Montenegro requested the dismissal of the entire security sector. They announced that they would Andrija Mandic, president of the Assembly and leader of the coalition, to initiate an emergency session of the Council for Security and Defense in order to consider the "catastrophic situation" and propose measures for recovery and prevention.
The coalition said that, just as forestry and construction inspectors are responsible according to the law, police inspectors must be treated the same. They especially criticized the acting assistant director of the police Lazar Šćepanović, pointing out that shortly after his statement "that there are two persons suspected of preparing criminal acts on the territory of Budva", there was a murder in Cetinje. They asked for his resignation due to "objective responsibility".
"Just a few hours after Šćepanović's statement, the murder of V. Lj took place. on Cetinje in the yard of his house. We rightly ask the question that by any chance Šćepanović was in Budva today in an operation to locate these suspects, instead of being at a press conference sending political messages two days before the elections in Podgorica, would this murder have happened in Cetinje?".
The coalition points out that the losses in clan clashes require an urgent response from the state and the responsibility of the leaders of the security sector.
They also invited the Deputy Prime Minister from the Democratic Party of Socialists Aleks Bečić and the Minister of the Interior Danilo Saranovic to resign, stating that the latest events, including the bombing and murder in Cetinje, are proof of the inability of the current government to deal with organized crime.
"Instead of protecting citizens, Bečić is dedicated to parading police cars and helicopters for the purpose of pre-election political marketing and holding bombastic press conferences devoid of elementary essence," they said.
