Šoć: I'm not a green person

Kayaker Milutin Šoć announced that he has never committed the criminal offense of vandalism. He wrote this in response to an article published on August 27, 2023 in Vijesti, in which it was stated that he was arrested the day before on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of green-dealing, endangering security and illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials.

"It is true that I was arrested on the specified day, and all according to the report of a certain citizen of MS who already owes me the return of borrowed money for a long period of time. On the basis of his fabricated, constructed statement, unsupported by a single piece of evidence, that I allegedly lent him money with the obligation to repay it with green interest, the ODT in Podgorica issued a warrant for my arrest and based on it initiated criminal proceedings against me. However, in the proceedings before the ODT, in which I was defended by lawyer Sonja Ž. Žarković, apart from the statement of MS, not a single piece of evidence was found that I committed the criminal offense of greenwashing. For the stated reason, I have been released from custody and I am free to defend myself against the charge of having committed the criminal offense of illegal possession of weapons and explosive substances in connection with the criminal offense of endangering safety, allegedly done again to the detriment of MS A as regards the criminal offense of green-dealing, in that partly, the criminal complaint was dismissed and the ODT gave up the prosecution, because it determined that I did not commit the crime, i.e. not a single proof was found that I committed the said crime because I never committed this crime. As a prominent athlete and national representative in kayaking, winner of several medals at national, regional and international competitions, awarded by the President of Montenegro with the Medal for Courage, I am of the opinion that the public of Montenegro should know the truth that Milutin Šoć was never accused of the criminal offense of greenwashing ", he writes in response.
