Strahinja Koprivica from Nikšić, the son of long-time retired police official Duško Koprivica, was arrested this morning on the order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) on suspicion that he had been involved in smuggling drugs and loads of cigarettes for a long period of time.
The criminal report also includes a high-ranking member of the Škaljar criminal clan, Igor Krstović, who was arrested in Budva at the end of March and is in Spuša custody.
SPO officers also arrested today Blaž Đurković, Nikola Vukotić and Marinko Koprivica, who are believed to have been members of this criminal organization and had clear responsibilities in the clan.
The SPO spends hours searching the house and facilities of Koprivica in Nikšić's Duklo settlement, as well as other members of this OKG, and the suspects are charged with the criminal offense of creating a criminal organization, drug smuggling and cigarette trading.
The names of five people were written on the list for arrest due to the suspicion that they were engaged in the trade of drugs and large quantities of cigarettes for a long period from Podgorica through Nikšić to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to information from "Vijesti", the SPO has also blocked several streets in Nikšić due to the action, and an inventory of large assets believed to be in the possession of the Koprivica family is underway.
The name of the suspect Strahinja Koprivica has been mentioned in police documents for years, and his name was also mentioned by the protected witness Jadranko Jonski, claiming that the man from Nikšić was allegedly one of the targets of three criminal groups headed by Ranko Radulović, Erogen Brajović and Igor Vukotić.
In September 2020, Jonski told the High Court panel in detail what the criminal organization's plans were and what their roles were. According to that testimony, the targets of Igor Vukotić from Kotor were former officers of the security sector - Zoran Lazović, Duško Golubović, Duško Koprivica, his son Strahinja.
Back in May of this year, "Vijesti" announced based on SKY data that "certain Koprivica from Nikšić" were in charge of smuggling cigarettes from Montenegro to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
At that time, "Vijesti" also announced that the members of that group "negotiated with Strahinja from Nikšić" to ensure the safe passage of vans loaded with cigarettes to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In this context, the safe lines on the route Nikšić - Trebinje mention that Koprivice, and that they charge nine euros per packet of cigarettes from Podgorica to Nikšić and another six to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
