Kotor Basic Court judge Veljko Bulatović acquitted the former president of the Municipality of Budva Marko Bata Carević in the case of illegal occupation of land in Krimovica, while his son Milan Carević was sentenced to half a year of house arrest, Vijesti has learned unofficially.
According to the same information, their family company "Carinvest" was fined 100.000 euros.
By this verdict, the state of Montenegro, which is the injured party, is directed to start a civil procedure for the return of the land.
At the end of August last year, the Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) in Kotor submitted an indictment to the Kotor Basic Court against Marko Bata Carevic for the criminal offense of illegal occupation of land in Krimovica.
His son Milan is charged with the criminal offense of illegal occupation of land and the criminal offense of building a building without registration and construction documentation.
The indictment includes the company "Carinvest".
The Network for the Affirmation of the Non-Governmental Sector (MANS) announced in 2020 that the agricultural complex in Krimovica, which was built by the Tsarević family company, was built on half a million square meters of state land, where buildings were built without a building permit.
