Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Justice and Anti-Corruption Momo Koprivica said that Montenegro must be cleansed of crime, smuggling and corruption.
He said this while commenting on today's action of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (STP) and the Special Police Department (SPO) in Nikšić.
In the course of the operation, Strahinja Koprivica, the son of long-time retired police official Duško Koprivica, was arrested on suspicion that he had been involved in smuggling drugs and loads of cigarettes for a long period of time. The criminal complaint also includes a high-ranking member of the Škaljar criminal clan, Igor Krstović, who was arrested in Budva at the end of March and is in Spuša custody. SPO officers also arrested Blaž Đurković, Nikola Vukotić and Marinko Koprivica, who are believed to have been members of this criminal organization and to have had clear responsibilities in the clan.
"I welcome the actions of SDT-SPO and UP in Nikšić. Both Nikšić and Montenegro must be cleansed of crime, smuggling and corruption. No one must be exempt from the application of the law. The rule of law is a prerequisite for the overall progress of society," Koprivica wrote on the X network. .
