"We are aware of the anxiety and concern of citizens, especially those who live in the area of Bijelo Polje and its surroundings, we understand their fear, but we also want to assure them that all our efforts are aimed at ensuring the safety of each individual as soon as possible and finding the perpetrator of this serious crime ", Saranovic said.
He expressed his deepest regret for the tragic event in Bijelo Polje.
"I was convinced on the ground that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Directorate are taking all necessary measures to locate and detain the suspect, and operational data indicate that the possible perpetrator of this serious crime is AB from Bijelo Polje," Šaranović said.
In the search for the suspect and the search of the area, all the available capacities of the Police Administration were made available - officers of RC Security "North", Anti-terrorist Unit, Special Police Unit, Anti-Crime Sector, Border Police Sector, General Jurisdiction Police Sector, Pljevlja Security Department, service dogs and a helicopter unit of the Ministry of Interior and the Army of Montenegro, drones and devices for observation and reconnaissance.
"In the shortest possible time, the support of the special teams of the Army of Montenegro is expected, which will speed up the search even more. According to the first information, the suspect stayed in the household of the victims a few hours before the crime was committed, who hosted him and probably presented himself falsely, because the police We are aware of the anxiety and concern of citizens, especially those who live in the area of Bijelo Polje and its surroundings, we understand their fear, but we also want to assure them that our every effort is aimed at ensuring the safety of every individual as soon as possible and We will find the perpetrator of this serious crime. Considering the seriousness of the situation, all necessary measures are being taken to guarantee the safety of the citizens - most of the buildings in the surrounding villages are under police control, and the local population has been informed of the necessary precautions," Šaranović said.
He added that he respects the public's interest in knowing, but also asked everyone to provide objective and accurate information, so as not to create additional public anxiety.
"We appeal to the citizens to remain calm and report any information that could help locate the perpetrator to the Police Directorate via the emergency phone number (122)," concluded Šaranović.
