During today's multi-hour pursuit of Alija Balijagić, the police received a tip from the villagers of Kukulje that a dangerous fugitive suspected of a double murder was allegedly seen there in the Vraneška Valley.
After a tip-off, strong police forces and a unit of the Army of Montenegro narrowed down the search to the area around that village near Bijelo Polje.
The police are trying to tighten the "hoop" and narrow the space for Balijagić, who knows the border zone towards Serbia more than well.
"It is a large area. We hope that the reports from the locals are correct and that it is in this zone," said the interlocutor from the top of the UP.
Since this morning, the Montenegrin police and the elite unit of the Army of Montenegro have been "combing" the terrain in the border zone with Serbia in search of Balijagić, who is suspected of having committed a double murder last Friday in Sokolac.
Police and Army helicopters and vehicles are on the ground.
The police also received a notification from the citizens of Orahovica near Bijelo Polje that the escaped Balijagić was spotted in that village. Police officers are on the ground and helicopter units fly over the terrain of that and surrounding towns. These villages are located near the border with Serbia.
After the report from Kukulje and the search in Orahovica and surrounding towns, the police also searched the village of Sljepašnica based on the report.
The police repeat that they check every citizen's report.
Several citizens from Bjelopolje villages told "Vijesta" that they saw Balijagić.
A resident of Orahovica said that she saw a man near the house and that she thought it was her husband, but that she realized he was a fugitive and ran away and locked herself in the house. One of the citizens said that he found Balijagić's cap near his barn.
The Vijesti team also found police forces tonight at the intersection from Sutivan to Kukulje, as well as in Kukulje.
Among the police officers, in addition to their colleagues from Bjelopolje, there are also their colleagues from Mojkovac, Plav and other surrounding towns.
Elementary school "9. maj" in Sutivan with two regional classes has switched to online classes.

A source from the top of the Police Administration said that they had no information that any of the residents of those villages had seen Balijagić, but that in communication with the Serbian police, they were searching the area because Balijagić used to stay in the border zone a lot because his family's house is there.

The villages that the police are searching this morning are about 30 kilometers away from the Vraneška valley, where Balijagić is believed to have killed his own brother and sister Jovan and Milenko last Friday in the family house in Madžagalja.
From that day onward, dangerous Balijagić, who spent 32 years in prison, has been hiding from the police.
Based on the video from the camera, which in Tomaševo the day before the crime, the police recorded Balijagić walking around the village with a rifle over his shoulder, and he has long hair and a gray beard.
