Elsad Kanalić (40) and his uncle Sait Kanalić (60), from Kukulje, claim that members of the Anti-Terrorist Police beat them this morning around eight o'clock, allegedly because of reports from their neighbors that they hid the fugitive Alija Balijagić last night and provided him with help.

The Police Directorate told "Vijesti" that the determination and verification of the allegation is in progress.

"In the event that they are confirmed to be correct, measures and actions prescribed by law will be taken against the perpetrators," said the UP.

Kanalići told "Vijesta" that the police special forces first hit them in the barn they were searching, then on the road, and then in the official vehicle.

They claim that they were hit on the head and body.

Elsad said that they threatened them with death if they did not admit that they were hiding Balijagić, with whom they are related.

Kanalići announced that they had hired a lawyer and announced a lawsuit against the Police Administration.
