The capacities of the Police Administration are dedicated to the maximum level of engagement to search the area with the aim of arresting the fugitive Alija Balijagic, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) announced.
That man from Bjelopol is suspected of the double murder of Jovan and Milenko Madžgalj on October 25.
The Ministry of Interior announced that the coordinated activity of the Montenegrin and Serbian police in the border zone is conducting a detailed search of a large area in very difficult conditions on the territory of both countries.
"With the strong support of members of the Army of Montenegro, the action is carried out by members of elite police and military units - Anti-Terrorist Unit (PTJ), Special Police Unit (PJP), Special Purpose Unit (OPN VCG), Border Police, officers of the Regional Security Center 'North' , with the involvement of helicopters of the Ministry of Interior and the Army of Montenegro, drones, thermal imaging cameras and tracking dogs. MUP writes.
They point out that colleagues from the Croatian police provide them with significant help in the field, with the involvement of their official tracking dogs.
"Situations like this show how important inter-police cooperation in the region and the synchronized fight against all forms of crime are. This is evidenced by the action of deprivation of liberty in an abandoned building in a Bjelo Polje hamlet ten days ago of a person who was wanted by the Serbian police on grounds of suspicion that he was in the territory of the municipality of Sjenica committed a number of criminal acts, including serious murder in a brutal manner.
