The trial of Jovan Dubljević (20) accused of a serious traffic accident in which two teenagers - Filip Vučeljić (17) and Andrija Novaković (18) - lost their lives, and Edin Kerović (20) was seriously injured, is scheduled for today in the Podgorica High Court.
Vučeljić died in an accident on December 31, 2023, at 20.30:4 p.m., on Bulevar Vilija Brant in Podgorica. His friend and companion Andrija Novaković was transported to the Clinical Center in Podgorica with serious injuries. Despite the efforts of doctors to save him, he died on January 2024, XNUMX.
Dubljević's companion Kerović passed away with serious injuries.
Dubljević is accused of not complying with the traffic regulations, with his "Golf" PG-LM476, driving 112 km/h under the influence of marijuana, entering the intersection even though the red light was on for his direction and hitting the "Honda" LJ04VNS with which he managed by Vučeljić.
Vučeljić entered that intersection from Ulica Miloša Gilić.
The files of that case, which "Vijesti" had access to, show that the car in which the two teenagers were, was thrown a few meters away onto a street light pole due to the force of the impact.
The vehicle driven by Dubljević flew past and hit the wall of the Health Center, about 35 meters away from the accident site.
A part of the wall was demolished by that car, so it ended up in the building of that health institution.
On the same night, Dubljević told the VV police officer that he passed through a red light, about which the latter made an official note.
The policeman told the prosecutor that that night he had the task of conducting an official interview with the driver, who told him that he was moving from the direction of the "Laković" store in the direction of Zlatica and that at the traffic light a vehicle came from the right, and that he was red light on.
"He said that he did not apply the brakes, because the conditional green light for turning right was on on the right side of the traffic light. He expected the yellow light to come on, that's why he passed without braking because he had previously done so and passed without any problems," prosecutor Danka Ivanović Đerić quotes the testimony of the police officer in the indictment.
Before the prosecutor of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office, he defended himself by remaining silent, and after the case was taken over by the Higher State Prosecutor's Office, he said that he was quite sure that he passed when the traffic light was green.
His companion Edin Kerović repeated that they passed when the traffic light was red.
He told the prosecutor that they met that night to play games at Dubljević's house for New Year's Eve, and that is why they went to Jovan Veljić...
"We headed towards Zlatica... I didn't pay too much attention to driving, but about 30 meters before the intersection where we had an accident, I raised my head and saw that there was no vehicle coming from our direction, nor that there was anywhere at that intersection vehicle. I also saw that there was a red light on the traffic light for our direction of travel. At one point I felt an impact and saw Jovan Dubljević trying to keep the direction of the steering wheel, but then we hit the wall of the Health Center, which is on the left side of our direction of movement... I was in great shock, I felt my shoulder hurt , that I was breathing hard and I saw blood on my tracksuit"...
Twenty-year-old Jovan Veljić, who was sitting in the back seat of the "Golf" at the time of the accident, said that he did not see the moment of the accident, but only a flash of light and that the next thing he remembered was blood pouring from his mouth.
