Businessman Zoran Ćoć Bećirović, his son Luka Bećirović and Mladen Mijatović, Zoran Bećirović's bodyguard, were detained for up to 72 hours on suspicion of having attacked "Pobjeda" journalist Ana Raičković and her family members last night.
They were heard at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) in Podgorica.
The prosecutor's office issued a statement earlier, while Luka Bećirović was still being questioned.
"After the hearing, the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica ordered detention for up to 72 hours for two persons (ZBi MM) due to reasonable suspicion that they committed a criminal act - violent behavior, to the detriment of the editor of the daily newspaper 'Pobjeda' AR. There is a reasonable suspicion that the detained persons, together with LB, whose interrogation is in progress, verbally and physically attacked the journalist and two other persons and on that occasion inflicted physical injuries on the injured party," the statement of the Basic State prosecutor's office in Podgorica.
The prosecutor's office added that they will continue to take all measures and actions within their jurisdiction and that they will act in accordance with the Supreme State Prosecutor's Instruction, which stipulates that cases formed in connection with threats and violence against journalists should be handled with special urgency.
