Even after more than seven months, the Ulcinj police did not manage to find out who stole a valuable painting by a famous painter. Voj Stanić from the office of the director of the Hotel-Tourist Enterprise "Ulcinjska Riviera", and placed a replica on the wall in its place.
"On the occasion of the missing valuable art painting from the premises of HTP 'Ulicinjska riviera', we inform you that the actions taken so far by the Police Administration - OB Ulcinj, have not identified the perpetrator. Other measures and actions are taken in accordance with the law, with the aim of discovering the teacher", says the short answer of the head of the Ulcinj prosecutor's office. Denis Zvrka when asked by "Vijesti" how far the investigation into the missing valuable art painting has come.
The ODT did not receive an answer to the question of whether the expert examination of the replica was completed, for which the prosecution sent an order to the expert a few months ago, and if so, what it showed.
The interlocutor of "Vijesti" from the investigation explained earlier that the expert gives a finding and an opinion on what the value of the original painting would be.
"The expert does not have to see the original picture to give a finding and opinion. Also, he is an expert on the authenticity of the picture that was given to him for inspection," the same source explained at the time.
On April 22 of this year, a report was submitted to the Ulcinj police in which there is doubt about the authenticity of the painting of Voj Stanić, which is located in the official room of the HTP "Ulcinjska Riviera". The application was submitted by the current executive director of that hotel and tourism company Camil Hoxha.
The Police Administration informed "Vijesta" at the time that the police officers had seized the picture in question and that it is currently in the official premises of the Ulcinj Security Department.
"It is believed to be a replica, while the original painting that was previously in the aforementioned office has not yet been located. Regarding the event in question, notifications were collected from 10 people... The image will be sent for the necessary expert examinations after the order of the basic state prosecutor, while the police undertakes further measures and actions in order to shed light on the event," the Police Directorate said at the time.
"Vijesti" announced in mid-May that Ulcinj inspectors are investigating who and in what way stole a painting worth tens of thousands of euros, and then placed a forgery on the wall in the same place.
The disputed picture, which was in the Ulcinj police station, has almost the same dimensions as the original.
Several interlocutors of "Vijesti" from HTP "Ulcinjska riviera" confirmed that the picture was allegedly taken to be framed some time ago and that it is possible that it has been lost since then.
According to unofficial information, unknown persons transported the painting in a van for framing due to its dimensions.
Before "Karisma" leased the "Ulcinjska Riviera" hotels on the Velika beach, Stanić's picture adorned the wall of the congress hall in the "Olimpik" hotel. After "Karisma" took over the hotels, the picture was transferred to the office on Ada.
A case was established in connection with the incident in the assembly hall
At the same time, the prosecutor's office is working to identify the perpetrators who, on May 29 of this year, threw unknown chemical substances in the hall of the Ulcinj Municipal Assembly while the session was in progress.
"In connection with the incident in the hall of the Ulcinj District Court on May 29, 2024, case files were formed at this prosecutor's office, against an unknown perpetrator, for the criminal offense of causing general danger, and after the Police Directorate - OB Ulcinj submitted a report on the measures and actions that has undertaken so far. The prosecutor gave an order to take other measures and actions in order to discover the perpetrator", says the reply of the head of the ODT.
The incident happened late at night, at an extraordinary session of the Council of Ministers, during the discussion on the dismissal of the then President of the Municipality of Ulcinj Omer Bajraktari (GP URA), when unknown chemical substances were thrown, which caused a general commotion in the hall. There were no injuries in the incident.
The extraordinary session continued a little later, and Bajraktari was relieved of his duties after midnight by the votes of 20 councilors present. Then the new parliamentary majority elected Force leader Genci Nimanbegu as the president of Ulcinj Municipality...
