All cases in which the law is violated are carefully investigated and prosecuted, exclusively and solely on the basis of evidence and on the principles of autonomy and independence, said Supreme State Prosecutor Milorad Marković.
The Prosecutor's Council (TS) announced that Marković, at the session of that body, reflected on the views expressed in public regarding him as a person, as well as in a professional sense.
Marković said that, by deciding to run for the supreme state prosecutor and later by being elected to that position, he fully consciously agreed to a greater degree of criticism not only of his work, but also of him personally.
"As a person who is personally and professionally committed to European values, I absolutely support the freedom of expression of every individual, which includes information that offends, shocks or disturbs," said Marković.
He pointed out that he is aware that freedom of expression also includes offensive speech addressed to him personally.
Marković stated that he agreed to it himself.
"What I do not agree to and will never agree to are untrue, unfounded claims, the motives of which I do not want to get into, about the influence of any political structure, any center of power, on my work and the work of the state prosecutor's organization. The only influence that I agree to and that is possible is the influence of legal norms and the Constitution," said Marković.
He said that all cases, in which there is a violation of the law, are carefully investigated and prosecuted, exclusively and only on the basis of evidence and on the principles of autonomy and independence.
"That is and will continue to be my only working principle, regardless of anyone's expectations. Anyone against whom there is evidence that he committed a criminal offense for which he is being prosecuted ex officio will be prosecuted," said Marković.
According to him, this is exactly what the achieved results show, which contribute to the restoration of trust in the work of the state prosecutor's organization.
Marković added that he is convinced that research on the work of the State Prosecutor's Office, the results of which are expected, will show this.
The TS said that at the session of the Council, the interview with the candidates registered for the public advertisement for the election of 11 state prosecutors in the basic state prosecutor's offices at the level of Montenegro began.
