Tonight, the government stated that Boris Milić is no longer the director of the National Security Agency (ANB), after he resigned, "Vijesti" learned from several sources.
Earlier this evening, Milić spoke with Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, who told him that he plans to dismiss him.
Spajić proposed Ivica Janović, an entrepreneur from Budva, as acting (acting) deputy.
In the resignation he submitted to Spajić, Milić states that he did it "for personal reasons", thanks him for the cooperation and trust he has shown so far.
In the official announcement of the Government, it is stated that at the session held today, the resignation of Milić was noted, and that the Government appointed Janović as acting director of ANB.
"Milic, who held positions in the security sector for over 30 years, will continue working at ANB, further contributing to this institution with his engagement. Milić was appointed acting director of ANB on October 8.10.2022, 18.05.2023, and for the full term of that he was in the post since May XNUMX, XNUMX. The Government of Montenegro thanks the former director of the ANB for his cooperation and professional work at the head of that institution in the announcement of the Government.
"Vijesti" has learned that Janović is a cousin of the MP of the Europe Now Movement (PES) Tonćij Janović, the husband of the president of the Management Board of the Sea Dobr Zvezdana Janović, and that he is engaged in business.
Ivica Janović is the half-brother of Tonći Janović, who is the godfather of Branko Krvavac, the head of Spajić's cabinet.
For over 30 years, Milić covered numerous positions within the security institutions of Montenegro - State Security Service and ANB.
He was the head of the Department for counterintelligence protection in ANB and an adviser to the director of the secret service.
According to the Law on ANB, the director of the Agency is appointed and dismissed by the Government, at the proposal of the Prime Minister.
On the other hand, the Government submits the proposal for the appointment of the Agency's director to the Assembly for its opinion. The Assembly, after discussion in the competent working body, issues an opinion.
The Director of the Agency is appointed for a period of five years and may be reappointed. He is responsible to the Government for his work and the work of the Agency. The director of ANB cannot be a member of a political party, nor act politically.
In the event that the director of the ANB ceases to function before the end of the period for which he was appointed, the Government may appoint an acting director for a maximum period of six months.
