The Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) and the Albanian Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in Tirana yesterday.
The memorandum was signed at SPAK headquarters by its manager Altin Dumani and chief special prosecutor Vladimir Novović, and the goal of the document is to strengthen institutional ties and improve joint efforts in the fight against organized crime and high corruption.
"The signing followed a meeting and discussion between the two managers on the modalities through which the cooperation between the two prosecutor's offices can be further improved, including the exchange of information, the formation of joint investigation teams and the organization of professional training. The interlocutors thus agreed that the signing of the Memorandum marks another important step in deepening relations between law enforcement institutions in the region and strengthening international cooperation in order to effectively respond to common challenges and ensure security and justice for all citizens," SDT said.
Dumani praised the results of SDT in the fight against organized crime and high corruption, emphasizing the importance of continuous work on strengthening judicial institutions and the administration of justice, while Novović took the opportunity to congratulate him on the prestigious award of the US State Department "Champion in the fight against corruption". which is a recognition for his contribution to strengthening the rule of law and the fight against corruption in the region, and which was also awarded to the chief special prosecutor last year.
