Former high-ranking police official Duško Koprivica was arrested in an operation by the Special Police Department, as one of the suspects for laundering more than one million euros since 2019.
His wife Radosava Koprivica was also deprived of her liberty, while the criminal complaint included their son Strahinja Koprivica, as well as son-in-law Duško Roganović.
Roganović is on the run, and Strahinja Koprivica is in custody in another criminal case.
Duško Koprivica and his wife were brought to the Special Police Department (SPO) for questioning a few minutes ago.
While the SPO officers were bringing him into the building, Duško Koprivica said that he would "defeat these setups".
"Long live Montenegro, we will defeat those bastards," he exclaimed.
The action was carried out by order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office.
They are suspected of having committed the extended criminal offense of money laundering.
"According to the order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office, the Special Police Department detained two persons: DK and RK, and filed a criminal complaint against them, as well as against: DR, who is on the run, and SK, who is in custody in another criminal case, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they have committed a prolonged criminal offense of money laundering, in the amount of over one million euros, in Montenegro, from 2019 until today the premises used by the reported persons, who were deprived of their liberty, will be taken to the special prosecutor for questioning as suspects within the legal term," SDT announced.

It was officially announced from the Police Directorate that the SPO, on the order of the SDT, arrested the former long-time high-ranking police officer DK (69), as well as RK (65) due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that they had committed the criminal offense of money laundering over an extended period of time.
It is added that in addition to those arrested, the criminal report also included SK (31), who is in the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions, and DR (38), for whom an international warrant was previously issued for criminal offenses with elements of serious and organized crime.
"By implementing these activities, we are sending a clear message that while providing strong support to the Special State Prosecutor's Office, we continue with a non-selective approach in the fight against serious and organized crime and the prosecution of persons who, during the previous period, through abuse of their positions, carried out criminal activities on behalf of high-risk organized criminal groups which will be one of the key elements of our actions in the coming period," the announcement reads.
"We are determined that, in the fight against high-risk criminal groups and the suppression of serious and organized crime, we will continue with undiminished intensity, with the emphasis that, appreciating and being guided by the principle of non-selectivity, the same should be applied not only in relation to those who were engaged in the earlier period in the law enforcement authorities, but also in relation to those who are still part of the personnel structure of the law enforcement authorities, and who are found to have entered the zone of violation of the law by their illegal actions". they said from UP.
