On the order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office, members of the Special Police Department arrested Mirko (35) and Petar (34) Cicmil, who were wanted for cigarette smuggling.
According to the information of Vijesta, the two were deprived of their freedom after they came to the premises of the Special Police Department today and surrendered to the inspectors.
SDT suspects the Cicmil brothers of being members of an organized criminal group that smuggled cigarettes, allegedly organized by businessman Saša Pekić.
Pekić was arrested on December 27, 2024, when SPO members handcuffed police officers Predrag Vučurović, Dragan Backović and Predrag Mijušković. On that day, Srđan Jokić and Goran Janketić were also deprived of their freedom
That action, "Vijesti" sources said earlier, followed several months of work on gathering evidence against the most important pillars in the multi-year, international cigarette smuggling scheme through Port Bar.
