The Higher State Prosecutor's Office (VDT) in Podgorica announced that, within their jurisdiction, they monitor frequent posts and comments that may contain elements of hate speech, and refer to the tragedy in Cetinje that happened on January 1.
"At the same time, it is assessed whether the statements, as well as the actions of any person, contain essential features of a criminal offense under the jurisdiction of this prosecution. In situations where it is judged that it is necessary to form a case regarding any specific case, the public will be informed in a timely manner," he states. in the announcement.
The VDT said that they are also giving orders to the basic state prosecutor's offices, as well as the police, to undertake measures and actions within their competence, in order to determine whether there are elements of offenses in the publications of certain persons.
"All persons who are found to have used hate speech in their posts and comments will be adequately prosecuted," the announcement concludes.
