Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew expressed his condolences to the Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Joaniki and the faithful of the Metropolis of Montenegro and the Littoral (MCP) on the occasion of the tragedy in Cetinje on January 1.
His message was published by the MCP on its website today.
On January 1, 12 people were killed in Cetinje, and the suspect Aco Martinović committed suicide. Dejan Kokotović from Cetinje, who died yesterday in the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) as a result of serious injuries he sustained on January 1, is the 13th victim of the attack.
Bartholomew said that "this heinous and inexplicable act of violence, which took at least 12 precious lives, including two children, reminds us of the fragile nature of peace in our world and the need for all people of good will to work tirelessly to promote mutual understanding, respect and harmonious coexistence".
