In relation to specific events related to the holding of the session of the Municipal Assembly (MA) of Budva, police officers are independently and in cooperation with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor undertaking activities aimed at acting on all submitted reports, the Police Directorate (PD) announced today.

The UP said that the prosecutor in the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor was informed immediately, without delay, of each individual report, on whose order the police take further measures and actions within their jurisdiction.
"In relation to the report of one person that she was physically attacked by the security of the Budva prison facility, the prosecutor declared that there are no elements of a criminal offense that is being prosecuted ex officio, while the police undertakes further measures and actions in order to identify possible perpetrators of the offense. Furthermore, in in relation to the report of the head of security, the prosecutor in the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor was also informed, on whose order the police are taking further measures and actions - information is being collected from the identified persons, after which they will be informed back acting prosecutor for the legal qualification of the event," the announcement reads.
The UP said that the competent prosecutor was also aware of the report filed by one person, who stated that there are no elements of a criminal offense that is being prosecuted ex officio.
"Once again, we remind you that the Municipality of Budva has an Internal Protection Service, which, in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Persons and Property, has widely prescribed powers when it comes to the protection of the area it provides, and was obliged to, among other things, control access to the facility, determine the identity and detain persons and possible perpetrators of crimes or misdemeanors in the protected area. In relation to the events in the Budva local parliament, the police cannot search the premises and persons in the Budva police station without the order of the competent prosecution and the order of the competent court in the specific situation," the announcement reads.
The UP said that they undertake legally, impartially, objectively as well as politically and ideologically neutral all the measures and actions prescribed by the law, and that they call on all actors of the event to respect the law, and to refrain from illegal actions and without delay about disturbed public order and peace or a committed criminal act, they notify the police, whose reports, as well as their own knowledge, the police will immediately act on.
