A major police operation is underway in Montenegro aimed at searching the property of members of the Škaljari and Kavači clans.
According to the unofficial information of Vijesta, during this action, a large amount of weapons was confiscated.
"Mass searches of members of organized criminal groups are being carried out throughout the country. Actions are being carried out in Budva, Podgorica, Bar, Nikšić, Herceg Novi and Kotor," a source from the Police Directorate told Vijesti.
In Budva, the police searched the property of the Mitrović family, alleged members of the Skaljar clan.
In Nikšić, the brothers Aleksandar and Jovan Đurđevac, close to Radovan Mujović and Cetinjana, Igor Mašanović and Luka Gazivoda, who were staying with the two Đurđevacs, were searched.
The Police Headquarters announced that they confiscated 20 weapons and 778 pieces of ammunition during an operation aimed at members of organized criminal groups, people close to them and operationally interesting.
In the territory under the jurisdiction of the Regional Security Center "Centar", the police conducted searches at seven locations and found six rifles and six pistols, as well as 683 pieces of ammunition of different types and calibers, from Zoran Ivanovic.
"For part of the weapons, ZI did not have adequate documentation, so all weapons were confiscated as a preventive measure, and the prosecutor was informed of all of them, who will subsequently carry out a legal qualification of the event," the police announced.
It was reported that the police found three hunting rifles and two pistols with expired license plates from Zdravko Kračković, and the weapons were confiscated.
"The competent prosecutor has been informed of the event, according to whose order a misdemeanor report from the Law on Weapons will be filed against this person in the regular procedure," the police announced.
Ilija Racanović, Spasoje Ivezić and Nemanja Vidmar were also searched.
One person's vehicle was confiscated for checks.
Officers of the Regional Security Center "South" conducted searches at 10 locations and seized a pistol with 27 pieces of ammunition and a weapon license from MV, which was confiscated as a preventive measure due to disturbed relations between neighbors.
"At another location, a hunting rifle and 13 pieces of ammunition, as well as a pistol and 55 pieces of ammunition were found from the person of MP. The weapon and ammunition were confiscated for further administrative proceedings. A spray with an irritating effect and 650 pieces of tablets were found from the person of RD to which the prosecutor will subsequently declare," it was announced.
Searches were carried out in three locations within the jurisdiction of the Regional Security Center "North", and in the territory covered by the Regional Security Center "West" in two locations, among which members of organized criminal groups and persons of operational interest from the territory of Nikšić and Cetinje were found. as well as the search of three vehicles.
"The search activities undertaken at several locations across the country demonstrate the commitment of the institutions to the fight against illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, as well as to the detection and prosecution of persons associated with criminal activities.
