Individually, for each case in which an inappropriate comment related to the tragedy in Cetinje was published, police action is ongoing, the Police Administration (UP) announced.
They said that in certain cases, the competent prosecutor declared that the existence of violations from Article 19 of the Law on Public Order and Peace will be assessed.
"Taking into account that in the last 10 days, negative and inappropriate comments have been expressed on social networks and other open sources, which were caused by the tragedy in Cetinje where a serious murder was committed, we inform the public that the officers of the Police Administration with all individual allegations of this type inform the state in a timely manner prosecutor's office under local jurisdiction in order to provide an assessment of the existence of a criminal offense or a misdemeanor in given cases," the announcement reads.
The UP said that "in relation to certain inappropriate texts published on a portal, which caused reactions from the general public, they informed the competent state prosecutor's office".
"We appeal to citizens, social actors, as well as the media to refrain from posting content that may further negatively affect the complexity of the currently sensitive social and security situation," the statement said.
13 people were killed in the shooting in Cetinje, two of them children. The perpetrator of the murders, Aco Martinović from Cetinje, died during transport to the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG), after shooting himself in the head.
Three people were seriously injured in the shooting and were hospitalized in KCCG.
On the occasion of the tragic event that took place in Cetinje, the Government made a decision to declare January 2, 3 and 4 as Days of Mourning.
