The Police Directorate announced that there was misinformation that a murder had been committed in Cetinje.
"Regarding the anonymous reports submitted and notifications to certain media outlets that a crime against life and limb was committed in Cetinje, we inform the public and citizens of Cetinje that the Police Directorate has determined that this is disinformation. The Cetinje police have located and interviewed the persons mentioned in the anonymous report to the media, more precisely the persons who were allegedly the subject of a serious crime," the police said.
In order to objectively inform the citizens of Cetinje, and to prevent the spread of panic caused by the dissemination of this information, they once again reiterated that this is disinformation.
"In order to provide accurate and timely information, we appeal to citizens to seek all information related to police activities, security situations or other important events exclusively through the official communication channels of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Administration. By calling 122, in addition to reporting events, you can also find out about the security situation or possible security risks in your environment. Information disseminated through unofficial sources or the media can cause misunderstandings and unnecessary panic. Only through a responsible attitude do we contribute to common security," the police said.
