On January 17, Tivat police, in cooperation with their Budva colleagues, arrested Stefan Kovijanić (19), a resident of Budva, who is suspected of setting fire to the BMW car of Tivat parish priest Miajlo Backović.

Backović's car was set on fire on January 13th at around 1.15:XNUMX am while it was parked in front of Backović's family home in the Učuri neighborhood in Tivat.
Kovijanić is a multiple repeat offender.
The Police Department also announced that the suspect had been arrested.
"Police officers arrested SK (19), a suspect in the criminal offense of causing general danger, which he is suspected of committing by setting a vehicle on fire in Tivat," the statement said.
It is alleged that SK is suspected of pouring flammable liquid on the injured party's vehicle at around 13:15 a.m. on January XNUMXth, causing a fire.
Police said that the vehicle sustained significant material damage on that occasion.
"Through forensic and technical measures and actions, several traces were removed from the immediate and wider scene, and through subsequent expert examinations and a series of activities undertaken, the police came to suspect that the perpetrator of this crime was SK," the statement said.
It is added that measures and actions are underway to determine the overall facts and circumstances of the event.
"SK has been deprived of his liberty and will be brought before the acting prosecutor for further proceedings, along with a criminal complaint," the statement said.
