The National Computer Security Incident Response Center (CIRT) has warned that a phishing campaign is active targeting users of the Montenegrin Commercial Bank (CKB).

It is a notification that arrives by email and looks like official information from the bank, asking users to "verify their account"

"The link in the message leads to a fake CKB Bank page, where users are required to enter personal information, including identification and contact information, in order to supposedly reactivate their account," CIRT said in a statement.

CIRT asked users to be extra cautious and advised that if they receive a similar message, they should not respond to it, and to pay attention to the URL, as phishing sites often use variations of official domain names.

CIRT also advised users not to open links from suspicious messages, to carefully check the sender's address, and to carefully read the content of electronic messages, as phishing messages usually contain grammatical errors.

"Keep in mind that a serious institution will never ask you to submit confidential information or documents via SMS messages, email, or social networks," CIRT said.

If some users believe their data has been misused, they can report the incident via email. kontakt@cirt.me, or by filling out the form on the CIRT website https://www.gov.me/cirt/prijavi-incident.
