This was unofficially told to Vijesti by several sources from the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions.
According to the newspaper's information, such an order arrived a few days ago, after Ilić was returned from the Correctional Facility to the Remand Prison.
"Ilic was returned to the pre-trial detention center and separated from detainees who belong to the Kavač clan, of which he himself is a part, according to police data. He was also separated from members of the Škalja clan. This means that he must not have contact with them at any time, so that they do not endanger him," said one of Vijesti's interlocutors.
He explained that such an order arrived at the same time that Ilic was returned to the detention unit.
Another interlocutor said that this was done based on operational information they received.
"So far, we have only been protecting Ilic from members of the organized crime group, the Skalja clan, but due to new information, this has changed. Now, in his room, on walks and during all activities, he is separated from members of both clans. We cannot say with certainty that he is threatened by both clans, but we must not ignore the information that has emerged in this regard," said the source.
According to unofficial information from Vijesti, Ilić began receiving threats after members of the clan he was a part of suspected that he was "talking too much" during interrogation.
However, during the court proceedings, he claimed that the police beat him after his arrest, that they used water and electric shears, and that they asked him to talk about things he knew nothing about, as well as that they told him that he would be a cooperating witness...
The accused was returned to the pre-trial detention center after the Court of Appeal overturned the first-instance verdict that sentenced the Kraljevo resident to five years in prison for creating a criminal organization and illegal possession of weapons and explosives.
Previously, he spent almost the entire year of 2024 in the Correctional Facility, where he was transferred after the first-instance verdict was handed down in February last year.
Ilić and Serbian citizen Strahinja Savić They were arrested in late January 2021 in Budva, and special prosecutors and the police announced at the time that their arrest prevented the liquidation of Budva resident Ljubiša. According to police records, the Budva resident who was allegedly their target is a person of interest for security and is close to the criminal Škaljari criminal clan.
Six months later, the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) filed an indictment against Serbian citizens Ilić, Savić and, for creating a criminal organization and attempting to murder Ljubiša. Nenad Milekovića, Beranca Grge Milićević and from Cetinje Miloš Klečak.
According to the indictment, Ilić, Savić, Milićević, Klečko and Mileković became members of a criminal organization formed by a currently unknown person with the nickname Johnny.
In addition to the individuals included in the indictment, other unidentified individuals with nicknames have also accepted membership in this criminal organization. Tailor, Mateo Odin, Sajarac, On a hike, Sepforiti and others.
The indictment states that the activities of this organization were planned for an indefinite period of time, on an international scale, with the application of precisely defined rules of internal control and discipline.
Ilić's task was to fire the fatal shot at Marko Ljubiša Kan, while Savić's task was to monitor or observe the target's movements and provide logistical support to the perpetrators of the murders.
According to the SDT files, Grga Milićević from Berane was in charge of logistics, and Miloš Klečak from Cetinje accepted the task of transporting the perpetrators of the crimes to the border crossings, connecting them with other members of the group and leading them to the so-called shack apartments...
The first-instance verdict in that case was delivered in February last year, and after a secret deliberation, it was overturned on January 14, 2025, and the case was returned to the High Court for a retrial.
The judges of the Court of Appeal found several violations of criminal procedure, including that the first instance court failed to explain how the criminal organization gained profit, incorrectly qualified the criminal offense for which Savić was charged, and that particularly important reasons for trying Mileković in absentia were not explained.
"The reasons given by the first instance court regarding the explanation of the use of intimidation in the activities of the criminal organization, in relation to the accused Savić Strahinja, are unclear...
"There was a lack of individualization in terms of sentencing," the decision's explanation reads, which states that the judges also got Milicevic's nickname, Sky, wrong.
The judges also noted that the first-instance verdict did not contain clear, reasoned, sufficient and valid reasons for the admissibility of the Sky communication as evidence.
