Police searched a building in the village of Kruševice in Šavnik, which is suspected of being used as a "shelter" for members of the Kavak clan, Ilija Racanović (35) from Budva, Aleksandar Đurđevac (28) from Nikšice, as well as Cetinje residents Željko Moštrokol (33), Luka Gazivoda (37) and Igor Mašanović (32).
The five of them were arrested on the night between February 1st and 2nd in Pljevlja.
"During the police activities at the time against these individuals, four luxury vehicles were seized from them and their close associates for appropriate checks, while during the aforementioned search of the premises, a rifle, several rounds of ammunition, and a certain amount of the narcotic drug marijuana were found and seized. Also, on this occasion, another vehicle, which was located near the premises, was seized for further checks," the Police Directorate announced.
In relation to the drugs found, criminal charges will be filed against Racanović at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje, on the suspicion that he committed a criminal offense - unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs.
"Police Directorate officers will, in order to maintain a stable security environment in the country, continue with intensive activities aimed at combating organized crime. By consistently implementing measures and taking preventive action, the police will continue to uncompromisingly confront all forms of crime, ensuring the safety of citizens," the statement reads.
