Police in Rožaje arrested AM (23) on suspicion of assaulting a police officer while performing his official duty.
The police statement states that on February 6th, at around 15 p.m., AM came to the premises of the Rožaje Security Department and complained about being issued a misdemeanor warrant for illegal parking.
"On that occasion, he addressed words of offensive content to a person who is doing an internship in this Department, while behaving insolently. A police officer who was in the immediate vicinity warned AM about his behavior, however, he continued to address words of offensive and threatening content towards this police officer, after which he left the official premises," the police announced.
It is added that an order was issued for AM to return so that official action could be taken against him for the violations committed.
"However, AM at that moment grabbed the police officer by the uniform in the chest area. On this occasion, the police officer used physical force against AM and overpowered this person. The prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Rožaje was informed of the incident, on whose order AM was deprived of liberty on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of assault on an official in the performance of official duty," the police announced.
