Suspected of exploiting children for pornography, MR (33), tried to swallow a razor blade after being remanded in custody today, Vijesti has learned.
The Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions responded to Vijesti that today, during the reception of MR, who was ordered to be detained, he reported that he had an unauthorized sharp object with him that was suitable for causing bodily harm to himself or another person:
"On which occasion he inserted it into his oral cavity."
"In order to provide appropriate medical care, this person was immediately prepared for transport to the Emergency Center. Upon arrival at the Emergency Center, the named person again attempted to injure himself," UIKS said.
They explained that UIKS officers prevented the detainee from doing so through timely intervention.
"After the above, the detainee was provided with medical care, and then the person was kept in hospital for treatment, under the supervision of UIKS security officers."
They pointed out that they had informed the competent police station about this in order to possibly take actions and measures within their jurisdiction.
