Russian citizen AN (41) was arrested in Budva on suspicion of human trafficking.
As announced by the Police Directorate, she is suspected of committing this crime to the detriment of a seven-year-old child.
"Acting on a citizen's report that a child was begging on the street opposite a hotel in Budva, police officers went to the scene together with officers from the Center for Social Work. After a series of measures and actions taken, the identity of the child was determined, as well as his legal guardian, from whom the officers later collected information. On suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of human trafficking, to the detriment of her seven-year-old child, AN (41), a Russian citizen residing in Budva, was deprived of her liberty," the police announced.
It is suspected that she committed the criminal offense she is charged with by abusing trust and a relationship of dependency, and with the aim of exploiting his labor, forcing the child to beg.
By order of the prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, employees of the Budva Center for Social Work placed the injured party and his five-year-old brother in the "Ljubović" Public Institution.
AN was taken to the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica for further jurisdiction, along with a criminal report.
