Nurse Snežana Popović was attacked on the night between Thursday and Friday in the Emergency Center of the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG), the Independent Union of the KCCG said, calling on the authorities to respond immediately.
The Independent Union condemned the attack on Popović, which occurred at two hours and 30 minutes.
"This act of violence represents an alarming threat to the safety of those who, on a daily basis, with sacrifice and dedication, care for the health of all citizens. We must not remain silent while those who save lives become targets of aggression," the statement said.
It is stated that medical workers are the pillars of society.
"Every attack on them is a direct attack on health, humanity and the basic values of our society. The independent trade union KCCG appeals for an immediate response from the competent authorities, and the introduction of stricter measures to protect healthcare workers in the workplace," the statement said.
The Independent Trade Union said that there has been enough violence against medical staff.
"Protecting healthcare workers must be a priority, because an attack on them is not just an attack on the individual but on the entire healthcare system," the statement said.
The independent union says it will not allow those who treat and save lives to work in fear for their own safety.
