During a search of the family home of PP (30), Danilovgrad police found 23 weapons, including nine rifles, 11 pistols and three revolvers, 2.417 rounds of ammunition of various types and calibers, 35 rounds of ammunition for the starting pistol, weapon frames and optical sights, the Police Directorate (UP) announced.
As the Police Department said, this action is a continuation of the activities undertaken the day before yesterday at Podgorica Airport, according to the police officer in whose possession were found parts of weapons, and who was then arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives.
Officers from the Group for Suppression of Smuggling of Weapons and Explosives (SBPK) also participated in the operation.

"The acting prosecutor was informed of the incident, upon whose order the weapon was temporarily seized in order to initiate appropriate proceedings pursuant to the Law on Weapons, as well as to determine any possible abuses in this area, while the prosecutor will subsequently decide on the qualification of the act," the statement reads.
"In order to detect, suppress and prevent criminal acts and misdemeanors with elements of violence, protect citizens and improve the security environment, as well as suppress criminal acts that cause anxiety among citizens, the Police Directorate will continue to undertake continuous activities with undiminished intensity, improving the security environment, at all levels, with the aim of creating collective security," it states.
