The Police Directorate document submitted to the Council for Civilian Control of the Police does not contain information that is not already generally known to the public.
This is stated in a statement by the Council for Civilian Control of Police Work regarding the response that the Police Directorate submitted to them regarding the police's actions before, during and after the mass crime in Cetinje.
They add that the received document "does not contain any information beyond that which is available to the public."
The Council announced that on Saturday, February 15, the President of the Council, Zoran Čelebić, received a document from the Police Directorate at his home address, which refers to information compiled on the circumstances of the tragic event in Cetinje on January 1, marked "Internal".
"In case it cannot remove the 'Internal' label, the Council is of the opinion that representatives of the non-governmental organizations Human Rights Action and the Women's Rights Center should be invited to sign a statement on the confidentiality of data and become fully acquainted with the contents of this document."
The Council announced that they have repeated their request to the Police Directorate to respond in writing to the complaint submitted by the non-governmental organizations Human Rights Action and the Women's Rights Center, in accordance with the Law on Internal Affairs and the Rules of Procedure of the Council for Civilian Control of Police Work, so that the Council can conduct further proceedings based on that document and determine any possible shortcomings in the conduct and application of police powers.
