Officers from the Berane Security Department have filed criminal and misdemeanor charges against two people for drug abuse, the Police Directorate announced.
It is alleged that police officers found a package of marijuana on EB (18) and forensic analysis led to suspicion that he had enabled a certain number of people to consume the narcotic.
"A criminal complaint has been filed against EB with the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje on suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of facilitating the consumption of narcotic drugs," the statement said.
The Police Directorate said that during a search of the apartment and other premises in the Rudeš settlement, used by ZD (39), officers from the Berane police found a certain amount of pills from the list of opiates.
"After testing, it was determined that ZD tested positive for the presence of benzodiazepines in his body," the statement said.
It is added that a misdemeanor charge will be filed against ZD for committing a misdemeanor under the Drug Abuse Prevention Act.
"Police officers in the north will continue with intensive activities to detect and suppress criminal offenses in the field of drug abuse and trafficking, with the aim of breaking up street drug sales networks and creating a safe environment for citizens," the statement said.
