Border control police officer at the Border Police Station - Podgorica, Emir Bučan, was sentenced to a year in prison for the unlawful deprivation of liberty of a female person, VK, in October last year.
The first-instance verdict was issued by the Basic Court in Podgorica, and The right to appeal is allowed within eight days from the date of receipt of the judgment.
"During the proceedings, the first instance court undoubtedly established that on the critical evening, the defendant, by abusing his authority, restricted the freedom of movement of the injured party VK by approaching the vehicle in which she and two other girls were, identifying himself and taking the documents that the injured party gave him, and then ordering her to leave the vehicle in which she was, and to sit in the vehicle in which he had arrived. After she did so and sat in the passenger seat, where his service pistol and restraints were previously located, he put the vehicle in drive and then stopped it in a parking lot near the train station, where he repeatedly touched the injured party and told her that they should have "5 minutes of discretion"," the Basic Court in Podgorica announced.
They add that when VK exchanged phone numbers with Bučan and said they would meet the following evening, he started the vehicle and took the girl back to the place they had started from.
"The defendant's detention was extended after the verdict was pronounced. The sentence imposed in this way clearly expresses social condemnation and zero tolerance for this and similar behavior by officials. The right to appeal the verdict is allowed within eight days from the date of receipt of the written verdict," it was announced.
