The Supreme Court Council has issued a decision to extend the detention of a woman from Tuvalu, LI (40), who is suspected of pimping her minor daughter (14) to a seventy-year-old man, FG, from the same municipality, who has also had his detention extended.
The Council, deciding on the proposal of the Higher State Prosecutor's Office of February 24, issued a decision to extend the defendants' detention for another three months.
"The Supreme Court Council extended the detention of the defendant LI due to reasonable suspicion that she committed the criminal offense of human trafficking under Article 444, paragraph 3 in connection with paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code of Montenegro, and of the defendant GF for the criminal offense of human trafficking under Article 444, paragraph 9 in connection with paragraph 8 of the Criminal Code of Montenegro," the statement reads.
The defendants were remanded in custody by a decision of the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica on December 2, 2024, and extended by a decision of the council of that court on December 27, so that according to the Supreme Court's decision, the detention may last until May 28.
