There is still no progress in the investigations into the case of the missing valuable painting from the office of the director of the "Ulcinj Riviera" and the incident in the Ulcinj Municipal Assembly, when the session was interrupted due to the spilled chemical agents.

The Ulcinj Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) told "Vijesti" that the police have not yet informed them that they have found and identified the perpetrators of these acts.

"We inform you that in connection with both events, files have been opened in this prosecutor's office against unknown perpetrators. The ODT in Ulcinj submitted a request to the Police Directorate of the Ulcinj Regional Police Station to collect information, which ordered police officers to collect the necessary information and to take legally prescribed measures and actions within their jurisdiction in order to discover and identify the perpetrators. We also inform you that the officers of the Police Directorate of the Ulcinj Regional Police Station have not yet informed us that they have discovered and identified the aforementioned persons."

A report was filed with the Ulcinj police on April 22nd last year, stating doubts about the authenticity of a painting by a famous Montenegrin painter. Voj Stanić, located in the official premises of HTP “Ulcinjska rivijera”. The report was filed by the former executive director of that hotel and tourism company Camil Hoxha.

The Police Administration informed "Vijesta" at the time that the police officers had seized the picture in question and that it is currently in the official premises of the Ulcinj Security Department.

"It is believed that this is a replica, while the original painting, which was previously in the aforementioned office, has not yet been located. Information has been collected from 10 people regarding the incident in question... The painting will be sent for the necessary expert examination upon the order of the Basic State Prosecutor, while the police are taking further measures and actions to shed light on the incident."

"Vijesti" announced in mid-May last year that Ulcinj inspectors were investigating who and how stole a painting worth tens of thousands of euros, and then placed a forgery on the wall in the same place.

"Vijesti"'s interlocutor from the investigation then explained that the expert provides a finding and opinion on what the value of the original painting would be:

"An expert witness does not have to have access to the original painting in order to give a finding and opinion. He also assesses the authenticity of the painting that is given to him for inspection."

Several people interviewed by "Vijesti" from HTP "Ulcinjska rivijera" confirmed that the original painting was allegedly taken for framing some time ago and that it is possible that it has been lost since then. According to the same information, unknown persons transported the painting for framing in a van due to its dimensions.

There has been no progress in identifying the perpetrators who threw unknown chemical substances into the Ulcinj Municipal Council hall on May 29th last year while the session was in progress.

The incident occurred late at night, at an extraordinary session of the Municipal Assembly, during a discussion on the dismissal of the then Mayor. Omer Bajraktari (GP URA), which caused a general commotion in the hall. No one was injured in the incident.

The extraordinary session continued a little later, and Bajraktari was relieved of his duties after midnight by the votes of 20 councilors present. Then the new parliamentary majority elected the leader of the Force as the president of the Municipality of Ulcinj Gentry of Nimanbegu.
