At least three secret agents who worked for the Udar portal have returned to their positions in the National Security Agency (ANB), claims the former prime minister and leader of the Civic Portal URA. Among them is Srđan Pavicevic, who is accused of illegally monitoring and wiretapping dissenters of the former DPS government.
Abazović announced three nights ago that secret agents had been reinstated, while appearing on the Fakti show on TV Adria.
"Let me say two names right away – Mr. (Filip) Đuranović and Mr. Pavicevic, who are being prosecuted. Check it out, here you go, I said it here tonight," said Abazović.
Ahead of the elections on August 30, 2020, the Udar portal targeted former military and police officials, priests, civil activists, politicians, and journalists, labeling them as alleged spies and collaborators of various services.
Abazović had previously revealed that the administrator of that portal was Filip Đuranović, a then-ANB officer, and that materials compiled by the Agency's secret surveillance were published on Udar.
"I mentioned Filip Đuranović... operational data treated him as technical support for the Udar portal, or rather the administrator of that site and that system," Abazović said earlier.
"At that time, the head of the secret escort was Srđan Pavićević, and the head of the second sector was Danilo Grozdanić," Abazović said after testifying at the Basic Court in Podgorica in early April 2024.
According to him, Grozdanić admitted before the Special State Prosecutor's Office that he was involved in this process, but was not included in the indictment.
"People who are directly accused - whether they will even defend themselves in court or not, whether they have any connection with the Udar portal, have returned to the ANB. And why have they returned to the ANB? Because the ANB is becoming more and more similar to the one from the DPS era. Will it now be controlled by some other structure and be an aid to some other political option? I don't know that. I'm speaking on your television, feel free to check. I said two names, there are more. I know another surname, I won't mention it now," he said.
Abazović warned that those who were removed from the Agency due to misconduct, or at least "sent home", have now been returned to the secret service to manage it.
The former prime minister previously, speaking about the activities of the Udar portal, stressed that the responsibility of the then director of the ANB, Dejan Peruničić, was unquestionable, because "it is not possible that the officers acted on their own, but rather had a directive from their superiors." He also said that the then Minister of Defense Predrag Bošković visited the ANB premises extensively during that period, which is not a common practice, especially since all of this happened during the 2020 election process.
"And I said that this is indicative, given that it is not typical for the Minister of Defense to come to the National Security Agency. I am not saying that this is an impossible thing, and that the minister cannot come to the institution, but it is not a very common practice, especially indicative because all of this happened just before election day, that is, during the election process on August 30, 2020," Abazović said earlier after testifying at the Podgorica Basic Court.
