The Supreme Court of Montenegro announced today that the court's panel has extended the detention for another three months for Mladen Radulović, Vuk Mićić Miranović and Ognjen Ilić, who are accused of smuggling 509 kilograms of cocaine on the ship "Budva".
The drug was seized in the German port of Hamburg on May 2, 2020, but the shipment was previously tracked for several days.
"The Council of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, deciding on the proposal of the Special State Prosecutor's Office of Montenegro dated March 04, 2025, to extend the detention of the defendants MR, OI and VMM, adopted a Decision to extend the detention of the defendants for another three months, i.e. until June 09, 2025," the statement states.
It is stated that the detention of all defendants was extended due to reasonable suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of creating a criminal organization, and Radulović and Ilić were also charged with the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs.
The statement also states that Mićić Miranović's detention has been extended for the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs.
"Let us recall that the detention of the defendants MR, OI and VMM was ordered by the Decision of the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica on December 11, 2024, and extended by the Decision of the council of that court on January 03, 2025, so that according to the Decision of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, the detention may last until June 09, 2025," the Supreme Court said.
