Four people were prosecuted for illegal fishing, in a joint action by supervisors of the Skadar Lake National Park Protection Service and the Border and Navigation Unit of the Police Directorate, in the Božaj region.
The fisheries inspector issued two misdemeanor orders in the amount of 500 euros each.
Two vessels, two outboard motors, two oars, two converters, three batteries, two lamps and other equipment used in illegal fishing have been temporarily seized, the National Parks of Montenegro announced.
"Establishing cooperation and implementing joint activities in the field brings results in the fight against poaching, and the Skadar Lake NP says that they are determined to prosecute every person before the competent authorities," the statement reads.
They appeal to citizens to report poaching or any other form of illegal activity in the NPCG area to the Monitoring Center's telephone number 067/000-825.
