Georgiev fined for drunk driving and drug abuse

The Bijelo Polje Court of Misdemeanors fined singer Vlad Georgiev (48) 450 and 250 euros for driving under the influence of alcohol and drug abuse, and he will also have to pay a total of 60 euros in procedural costs.

"Due to the violation of Article 318, Paragraph 1, Subparagraph 14 of the Law on Road Traffic Safety - driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol in the body with a concentration of 1,22 g/kg, the court imposed a fine of 48 euros and 450 euros in procedural costs on the defendant VG (30) from Belgrade. Also, the court imposed a fine of 52 euros and 1 euros in procedural costs on the same defendant in another proceeding for the violation of Article 5, Paragraph 250, Subparagraph 30 of the Law on Prevention of Drug Abuse. Both decisions in both proceedings were executed before they became final because the defendant resides abroad," announced Alija Beganović, president and spokesperson of the Misdemeanor Court in Bijelo Polje.

In both proceedings, the defendant accepted responsibility for the committed offenses, and an inspection of the data from the offense records determined that he had not previously been convicted of a misdemeanor, the court announced.
