Police in Rožaje and Plav conducted searches at two locations, and on that occasion, several weapons and ammunition were found and seized, the Police Directorate (UP) announced.
"Officers of the Rožaje Security Department, in cooperation with officers of the Regional Border Police Center 'North', acting on a court order, searched a family house owned by MF(67). On that occasion, the following were found and temporarily seized: a Pietro Beretta rifle with 52 rounds of ammunition and a CZ M 70 pistol with 11 rounds of ammunition, for which the MF did not have adequate documentation," the statement reads.
The UP said that the aforementioned weapon was seized for further checks, after which the acting prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Rožaje will declare the legal qualification of the crime.
"Acting on a court order, officers from the Security Departments of Bijelo Polje, Berane and Plav searched the family home and auxiliary facilities used by RT (53) in Plav. During the search, the following were found and seized: a semi-automatic rifle of the Crvena zastava brand, a starter pistol of the Blow brand, and an air rifle of an unknown brand, for which the named person did not possess the appropriate documentation," the statement states.
"The prosecutor on duty at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Plav was informed of the above, and on whose order RT was deprived of his liberty with a criminal charge on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives," it added.
"Officers of the Regional Security Center 'North' continue with intensive preventive and repressive measures and actions aimed at suppressing violence and crime, with the aim of contributing to increasing community security, protecting the lives of citizens and strengthening the rule of law," the UP said.
